Gibbs-Johnson Families

What do the Gibbs and Johnson families have in common?

Elizabeth (Bessie) Margaret Johnson married Harold Ray Gibbs, April 4, 1942.

Bessie and Ray are the center figures of the ancestor/descendant hour glass from my perspective. I am Betty Gibbs, oldest of the ten children of Bessie and Ray. Elizabeth (Bessie) Margaret Johnson, daughter of Anna/e (Josephine Lawless) and Oliver Victor Johnson, married Harold Ray Gibbs, son of Cornelia (Catherine Estes) and Bernard Scott Gibbs.

The Gibbs Johnson Family History stories are built on family letters, films and photos, and genealogy collected by Victor Johnson (Bessie’s older brother) and Gibbs researchers. Other resources used to compile the stories include census records, maps, FindAGrave, newspapers, FamilySearch, and old books.
