I am finding out all sorts of things about the John DeCourcy Lawless family while I am working on his story. There are quite a few still pictures that are being incorporated into the story.
John was Grandma Johnson’s brother. He married Blanche and they had 3 children.
The first was Mary Eileen – she had 10 children. There may be pictures, but I can’t identify them. I remember seeing pictures and/or movies of people I thought were relatives, but couldn’t identify them. When I find the pictures again, I will compare to those I know are Mary Eileen. I have several pictures of Mary as a young girl and teenager, plus one studio when she is older.
The second was Anna Marie and she had three husbands and possibly two children. I have a few pictures of her with a couple of kids. One child I am sure of is Michael Richard Lawless who was born when Anna was 19. There is a picture of Anna, Jack, Blanche, and “Mickie”. The names are written on the picture. I found a marriage record for him where Anna is listed as the mother, but no father is listed.
The third was John Jr or Jackie. He had six children, 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren according to his ex-wife Shirley’s obituary.
I didn’t know Jackie was even married until I found his ex wife and she had an obituary. Uncle Victor took videos of Jack in the 1970s. There is another video that I knew had some Lawless family. It turns out they were Jack’s ex-wife and all 6 of their kids. The wife’s picture was included with her obituary on FindAGrave. I need to go back to that video and identify them.
So, we have lots of cousins that we have never met.
Jackie’s kids all have a pointed chin like their grandfather John.
Also, I had an idea (sparked by something I saw on YouTube) to read some of Grandma J’s poetry for the videos where they fit. I will try that out and see how it goes. Ian thought I should narrate the videos. Poems are a lot more interesting than x is in y place.
