June update
It has been months since I put anything here. I have been working on things other than this web page. At the end of June I will be going on a trip to Colorado and Nebraska. The Nebraska trip is requiring some planning. After going to Kearney for the past 45 years, I am getting

New Cousin contacted
When I was on Family Search recently, I happened across a name associated with Aunt Minnie Lawless’ branch of the family. I contacted Marie Nelson and she answered. She is Aunt Minnie’s great granddaughter. This is the lineage. Minnie (Marie Louise) had two children, Bernice and Donald. As far as I can tell, Donald had

January 2025 Update!
For several months I have been working on transcribing family letters. I have been using ChatGPT to do the transcription and it does a pretty good job. There is much more to learn about it as I have been finding out in several webinars. Besides the interpretation of handwriting, it can summarize the text, pull

Eugenia and Minnie Lawless Stories
I didn’t know either of Anne’s two sisters. I remember her talking about them, but don’t remember anything she said about them. I also remember her talking about Blanche, her brother John’s wife. I am putting together their stories from letters and facts found on Family Search. I have some newspaper social notes about them.

John Lawless Story uploaded
The John DeCourcy Lawless is as finished as I can make it at this time. I have gathered information from Uncle Victor’s records as well as from FamilySearch and FindAGrave. Uncle Victor’s was last updated about 1975, so marriages and deaths come from other sources. John’s story has been a challenge because there were a

John DeCourcy Lawless Families
I am finding out all sorts of things about the John DeCourcy Lawless family while I am working on his story. There are quite a few still pictures that are being incorporated into the story. John was Grandma Johnson’s brother. He married Blanche and they had 3 children. The first was Mary Eileen – she had 10 children.

Name Spellings
n the past, name spellings were fluid. When someone was born and their name was entered in the family Bible, that was usually the way the name was spelled. However, sometimes that changed over the years for unknown reasons. The person might have decided to use a different name or a spelling variation. Or someone hearing the

Update on Eugene Lawless Story
I made quite a few changes to the Eugene Lawless story. When I read through it I realized that the flow could be better. Also, there was some duplication of information. The newest version will be posted soon.
