Videos 1970s.

These videos are mainly 1970s. The one about Sr. Kathleen spans her whole religious life from 1948 to 1975 when she had her 25th anniversary. There is also a video of Eugenia Lawless that spans years of her life.


Victor and Lois Wedding, November 1970

Anne Johnson visiting with Lois, Bob, Jerry at the Judson house. Victor is given a bachelor party at work (National Bureau of Standards). Family and friends party at home and in a restaurant. Wedding day Nov 28 1970. Honeymoon in Mexico. (this video is coming soon)


VictorJohnson1970-1973 – Victor and Lois were married in 1970. This was their first Christmas, joined by Lois’ sons Bob and Jerry Sprentall and her Redmond parents. In 1973 they had a visit from Jim Christiansen and another Christmas celebration.


Victor Lois Vacation In Michigan – Lois’ parents had a vacation cabin in Michigan. Besides canoeing and visiting local businesses, they build a storage shed in this film. Later back in Boulder, they welcomed guests – film box says Senter, but not sure who they are.


South Dakota 1970 – Working on the Christiansen farm. Three Renzis visit the Lichty family. Riding motorcycles and bikes. Tessie and Pauline wait for the school bus.


Hartman Family – 1971-1975 – Anne Lichty Don Hartman Wedding 1971

Anne married Don Hartman April 5, 1971 in Miller SD. Lichty family, Christiansen family and Grandma Anne Johnson are seen. Others are possibly Lichty and Hartman relatives.

1975 – Don and Anne play with their boys, Shane and Sean. They also visit Front Street in Ogallala Nebraska with Victor and Leo Johnson.


Gibbs in Cincinnati – 1971-1973 – The first section was taken when the family was living on Karenlaw Lane in Cincinnati. It is 1971 and the twins are getting on the school bus. Robin chases with a rat. A short clip at the end shows a twin with Grandma Anne Johnson. 1972 – Twins had happy face balloons. Short clip of Christine and Bessie at end. 1973 – Bessie and a twin (Justin) in Cincinnati. Christine and others riding horses, including Uncle Victor.

The Gibbs family had a horse named Sugar. Christine was the main horse person. Justin and Christine are riding Sugar bareback. The horse farm was within walking distance of the house on Karenlaw Lane. Victor Johnson also rode the horse in this movie. A bunch of neighbor kids helped feed Sugar.

South Dakota 1971-1972 – The Christiansen and Lichty families are at a function at St. Anne’s church in Miller. Marie’s graduation from nursing school. 1972 – Anne J. and Lichtys at church in Wessington and on their farm. Pigs, chickens and cows!


Leo Johnson Family 1972 – Victor visited Leo’s family at their Valley Center home. Leo and family work in the orange grove. Therese sits at the roadside farm stand selling oranges. Peter Renzi and his Future Wife Marie Hite visit. Jeanne and Andy Hoffman come with their four children – Tim, Todd, Ted, and Trina. Leo takes Therese, Trina and Todd on a tractor ride. Bob and Teri come to visit and take Peter and Marie to the airport.


Renzi In MD and SD 1973 – Renzi family is at home in Maryland. In the summer some of the family took a trip to South Dakota and met with Grandma Anne, Lichty Family, Christiansen Family, Sr. Kathleen, Victor, and Leo.


Gibbs Family in Cincinnati 1973 – The Ray and Bessie Gibbs family at home on Karenlaw Lane. Ray, Bessie, Scotty, Julia, Christine, Robin, Justin, Hunter. With Victor Johnson. Julia had a broken collarbone. Narration by Julia Gibbs

Victor’s South Dakota and Nebraska trip 1973 – Victor stopped at Lichty Place. Tessie with son Nathan, Anne Johnson, Pam Lichty, Marie Christiansen. Bicycle riding at the Lichty home. Tessie has her son Nathan on the back of her bike. Hunter Gibbs and another boy also rode. Dorothy, Anne Johnson, Bessie Gibbs at end. Picnic with Lichty and Christiansen families, Sr. Kathleen, Anne Johnson, Victor and Lois. Victor and Lois visit Bob and Gail Sprentall in Chadron NE. Bob worked for the forest service there. He holds his daughter Melinda. Also shown is Jerry Sprentall. Other couple not known.


Leeminier Senter, Hobart OK 1973 – Victor visits Leeminier and Minnie Bell Senter’s family  in Hobart OK. Two of their 3 daughters, Mary and Judy, are there with their children.


Marie Christiansen Wedding 1975 – Marie and Ivan Trowbridge were married at St. Anne’s Catholic church in Miller. They celebrated 40 years in 2015.


Grandma Anne Johnson’s Funeral 1975 – Anne died Aug 8, 1975. Funeral was at St. Anne’s church. Attended by Christiansen family, Lichty family, Renzi family, Joan Gibbs, Leo Johnson, Eugenia Lawless, Sr. Kathleen Johnson, Victor and Lois Johnson. The families gathered at the Lichty farm before leaving for home.


Victor’s Trips in 1976 To Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska – In South Dakota Victor he visited with the Christiansens when Marie’s first baby was newborn. Then later, Leo and Nora Jane Johnson joined him for another visit with Marie’s new family. They also visited the Lichty and Christiansen families. Hunter Gibbs was staying with Lichtys for the summer. Joel’s wife, Ruth is also seen. The brothers also visited the Lawless family in Kearney NE.

Kathleen Johnson – Sr. Alphonsus — Sr. Kathleen – Kathleen took vows in 1948 and became Sr. Alphonsus (novice) with the Presentation Sisters in Aberdeen SD. She took her final vows in 1950 and celebrated her 25th Anniversary in 1975. The ceremony was attended by the Christiansen, Lichty, and Gibbs families, Victor Johnson, Nora Jane Johnson and Anne Johnson, Sr. Kathleen’s mother. Sr. Kathleen died in July 2010. Dorothy Lichty and Sr. Kathleen Johnson play music with some other people. Includes Tom Christiansen and Pauline Lichty.


Eugenia Lawless – 1950s-1970s – Eugenia was Anne’s older sister and everyone knew her as Aunt Gene. This group of films were taken in the early 1950s and then later in about 1973. She was a character! Several of the Christiansen family helped with cleanup. The 1976 scene was another Victor visit. Eugenia died in 1982.
