These videos are compiled from films taken in the 1940s. Some span years into the 1950s.
Christiansen Family 1941-1950 – Mary and John were married in 1941. This series of photos and videos show the first three children between 1942 and 1948. Tom b. 1942, Jim b. 1944, Joel, b. 1948
Victor Johnson In Panama – 1942 – Victor as an engineer worked for Stearns Roger in Panama Canal Zone in 1941 and into 1942. This 8mm film was developed in 1943. Some of the scenes are very fuzzy and the lighting was not good. At about 2 minutes, Victor is swimming. Then we see him on a boat. So very young!
Leo Johnson Family 1944-1952 – Leo and Nora Jane were married in 1944. These films were taken of them and their first four children. The last part shows the house Leo built near Fairfax just before they moved to California.
Renzi Family Begins – 1948-1950 – Eileen and Rocky were married May 1948 in Washington DC. In 1949, Eileen and Rocky Renzi had their first child, Jeannette. These films cover from February 1949 to November 1950 when their second child Lucille was born.
Oliver Johnson 1948 – Oliver on the farm harvesting grain, probably on his farm in South Dakota. Oliver is in his store in Lyons NE. Betty, his second wife, helps in the store. He is in a restaurant with Betty.
John Lawless Family 1948 – Uncle Victor, John Lawless on tractor + family. This is the John Lawless family. John, Blanche, 3 kids. Youngest is Jackie Lawless – maybe 8 or 9 (b.1940). The family is shown coming out of a Quonset hut church. Aunt Eileen (Johnson/Renzi) is with one of the Lawless girls – Mary Eileen. Aunt Eileen was pretty young. Uncle Victor is in part of it. Gibbs 1949-1951 – This compilation of films was taken by Victor Johnson between 1949 and the summer of 1951. Families include Gibbs relatives, Leo Johnson and Renzi families. Also in the video are friends Lorette and Bob Vaughan with son Bob and daughter Bonnie at the corn roast picnic.
